Gearing up for Weddings~{Southwestern Ohio Wedding Photographer}

I am still here, I promise!  I have been busy, just not busy blogging.  I have lots of sessions to share coming up but it was nice to have a short breathier.  Being a wife, mommy, homeschool teacher, housekeeper, soccer mom and business owner has proved to be a challenge.  But don’t get me wrong, I LOVE EVERY MINUTE of it! I would not change a thing.  Well,  except maybe the housekeeping part.  {One of my new goals for 2010 is to hire a housekeeper once or twice a month, but shhh… don’t tell my husband! It will be our little secret why the house all of a sudden looks a LOT cleanier. :)}
Something exciting I have been working on though the last few weeks is the wedding side of our business.  We have recently made the decision to expand our business to include weddings!  By we, I mean my husband and I.  I am so happy that my husband will be joining me in this incredible journey. Who better to have as your second shooter at weddings then the love of your life, right? I love the art of photography and he loves the technical side of photography, so together this should be fun. I understand how my camera works but my husband is the type of person who has to know “why” it works the way it does.  So as I am stetching him to think more creatively, he is teaching me more techical knowledge of my camera and how to make it do things I had not even thought of doing.    When my eyes start to gloss over though, he knows he has lost me and he might as well move on.  I really am looking forward to doing this with him!  He has been an incredible partner in our marriage and I am sure he will be an incredible asset to our business as well, not to mention he has all the financial knowledge that I lack!

I recently had a shoot with some models for my new wedding site which will be ready sometime over the winter months.  We did a little of everything.  They posed for engagement and bridal pictures for me.  While these are a little more on the “creative/artsy” side,  I will do the more traditional shots with a few of these thrown in as well!  If you or someone you know is looking for a wedding photographer, feel free to pass on my name.  🙂

Here is a little sneak peek of what is to come and a few of my favorites from the day…
