Welcome 2012!

Wow, can you believe it is 2012 already?!!!  Time seems to be flying by me lately.  I guess it has something to do with getting older but it really does seem to be going faster and faster.  I love the holidays when we can slow down and enjoy one another just a little bit longer.  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and made some special memories to cherish with your family.  Like I said in my last post, I love reflecting on the year we just had but I also love looking ahead and planning for the new year.

I have many exciting things planned for 2012 along with a few changes ahead for my business.  The past 3 1/2 years I have shot everything from seniors, weddings, events, headshot and everything in between.   I have loved every minute of my journey to where my business is today but this year I have decided to narrow my focus down just a bit.  At least for 2012, we will NOT be booking weddings.  I have one scheduled for the summer but beyond that I am referring all inquires on to a friend who is a fabulous wedding photographer!!  We have shot many weddings over the last 2 years and while I have TRULY LOVED doing EVERY one of them, they are very time consuming and take away from my number one passion which is seniors.  If you are a past client, a family friend, or I have already promised to do your wedding,  I would still love to be a part of your big day! Contact me and let’s chat.  Maybe we can work out something. 😉  It still says “weddings” on my studio window but that will be changing soon too.  You may notice I have removed weddings from my portfolio.  Believe me, this KILLS me to do!! I have so many favorites that I love featuring on my site but if I don’t want to attract more wedding inquiries, I need to take them down.  I still would love to do couple sessions though!  If you would like an anniversary or engagement session, I would be thrilled to do that for you.  For engagement sessions though,  please know many wedding photographers include that with their packages so you might want to wait until you find just the right fit for your wedding.

My new focus for 2012 will be newborns, children, and seniors.  I will still shoot immediate family sessions and couples but only on a limited basis.  {If you are a woman and are looking for a special gift for your groom for your wedding or maybe your spouse for Valentine’s Day, I would love to help you out with that too.} 😉  Since newborns, children and seniors are my new focus, look for special blog posts explaining my programs available for each coming soon.  I will explain my newborn sessions a bit more in-depth and I will tell you more about my “Boutique Babies” and “Couture Kids”  as well.  Seniors, I have two very special announcements coming your way.  One has to do with the whole “Experience” and the other is more “Conceptual”.  Stay tuned!  It is almost time to start recruiting my Senior Models for next year as well! With the whole idea of narrowing my focus, I am hoping to give you more of a “boutique” experience.  I want customer service to be my top priority for 2012 and by catering to a more focused clientele, I hope to be able to do that much better.

Hopefully by now you have noticed the changes on the website and blog.  Remember, I get bored easily so I had to mix it up a bit.  I have a new senior site that will hopefully make it’s debut soon.  As part of my new websites, I have added a Client Review section.  If you are a past client and would like to send me some feedback {good and bad}, I would LOVE to hear it.  Simply send me an e-mail at tchavies@woh.rr.com with your feedback and I will either add it to the site or take your advice to heart and improve where I can.  I want your experience to be one you will remember and would be happy to share with others.  If I need to improve somethings for future clients, PLEASE let me know.  If you loved your experience as we all as your final product, please share that with me so I can share it with others.  I know my style and business model may not be for everyone and that is okay but if you enjoyed it, please let me know.  Having clients come back to me year after year is one of the biggest compliments you can give me.  I want to be your family photographer for many years to come!

I am happy to say that I will not be making any price increases starting out in 2012.  Prices will remain the same as well as my current Session Deposits.  I will be adding a few tiers but not increasing those already in place.  I have added several new studio samples with a few more on the way.  I have many new backdrop ideas for the studio and as you saw in my last post, a new COUCH to use for sessions!!! I am SO excited to shoot on this thing!!!  It has been on my wish list for 3 years so now you know why I am so excited about it!! I have also added several newborn props that I am anxious to use. Luckily, I have several babies who are almost due to be born!!!

Okay, well that is enough for now.  I have been working on my 2012 goals and I will add those here soon.  Here is a shot of my family on our quick trip to The Opryland Hotel over Christmas break.

Let’s all make 2012 the best one yet!
